Tried the shrimp PO'Boy. The homemade pickles are amazing. I will come back, but probably would not order the same item. The fries were pretty good as well.
Absolutely fair question. So, I will share. After driving over 1000 miles to be back in Laredo, there were only two places I wanted to go to in Laredo or actually Texas. HEB and Scratch. I finally got to go eat my favorite breakfast, and the restaurant looked neglected and was a bit uncomfortably cool. Benedict Arnold was still on the menu with the same side. The place was pretty empty, but the service was painfully slow. We had three adults and three small children. The food came out at such different times half the party was done before I got my order and my wife's order was even later than that. We had ordered the same thing. Both orders had cold biscuits and cold potato croquettes. There was very little hollandaise, and the jalapeño flavor was completely absent. The place was a neglected shell of what it used to be, and it used to be where we would take visiting family or friends for brunch. The photo is from when it was good.
Great restaurant to hang out with friends, have a savory sandwich and a refreshing cocktail or beer. The service is outstanding and the prices accessible.
I ordered the “ When Pigs Fly” for pick up. I arrive home and see that 3 ingredients are missing- bacon marmalade, tomatoes, & lemon vinaigrette. I called asking if they could remake the sand-which and they said no, that I could go pick up a side of bacon marmalade- very disappointing.
Truly a unique sandwich experience worth the try! The new owner, Chris, is friendly, responsive and the food is constantly delicious. Service is outstanding, friendly atmosphere and definitely worth repeating! Don’t miss the opportunity to taste those fries! and a Cuba Libre sandwich…
