Need a meal that will bust you at the seams.....this is your place. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue which comes with your choice of mushroom or Chipotle sauce. It also comes with toast, mashed potatoes, corn and green noodles. Food coma! If your looking for atmosphere....this is not your place. As you can see from my photos the place looks like a converted maquinitas but with the lights on. Very little effort to create a classy restaurant was given. However, that doesn't really matter if the food is good. But, it wasn't. With canned corn, store bought bread for toast, and horrible sweet tea (lipton fountain, not brewed is my guess) we were off to a bad start. Fortunately the Chicken was good. It had a deep fried outer crust with semi-moist chicken and a cheese center. There was some ham in there but, not alot. Both sauces were pretty good and the mashed potatoes were real, not box. The food came out HOT and on nice thick ceramic plates. The service was good as the waitress was very attentive. The tables were clean and the chairs were unremarkable.
This place has been around a long time and always consistently serves delicious Mexican food. This was one of the first restaurants I went to on my first visit to Laredo. They used to be famous for chicken cordon bleu but I'm not sure if that is still one of their specialties. I do not know the name of the dish that I ordered today but it came with three chicken enchiladas topped with a red sauce, white Mexican cheese and chunks of beef fajita. Also on the plate was a side of rice, beans, and some lettuce and avocado (see picture). It was downright freaking amazing!! The service was excellent with the exception of a small language barrier since I only understand a little bit of Spanish and speak even less. But luckily the server knew what I was saying. Also the air conditioner could use a little work. But will I go back? Of course I will!!
This place is one of the best in Laredo. This is my 5th time coming here this year. It’s been about 2 months since the last visit and the waiters still remember you. They are great people and never a dull moment with them. It truly feels like a family restaurant where you feel at home. The food is amazing and always on point. Milanesa, cordon bleu, and brisket tacos never get old!
Really good food, the waitress was very attentive , the person at the checkout was really nice, my wife had the menudo and I had the chilaquiles rojos sin pollo con huevos revueltos.
We rented pool #2 for a family gathering and we had a great time. It's a great space and the people are very accommodating. We didn't order food but we've heard that it's amazing.
I only didn't give 5 stars because my daughter had a reaction to the water in the pool. It has a lot of bleach. I'm sure that's needed because it's basically a public pool but we had to rush to Walgreen's to get our daughter Benadryl. After 2 Benadryl the reaction stopped.
