An interesting place. Excellent chips and avacado salsa with great picante. I had the unique Papa asada Norteño topped with Chihuahua cheese. Very delicious. Seems to be a Northern Mexican dish that I am not familiar with. Very new and modern restaurant. Has the feel of an American chain with a lot of American items on the menu. Great service, and the palomas were impeccable.
Edit for 2023: Still a great place to stop for food and a beer.
In fact, the burger was one of the best I've had in years, and service continues to be friendly and prompt.

Excellent steak joint and sports bar.
Set pretty much in the center of Nuevo Laredo, within an easy stroll of a number of hotels, El Papalote is one of those instantly likeable bar/grill affairs you'll find in most Mexican towns.
Service is impeccably friendly, prices are fair, and the food is excellent.

5 years agoGreat food and amazing services. We love the Micheladas and the all the different orders of tacos. The location is also fantastic.
